To provide Canadian input to the IEC's development of "technical standards for IMO GMDSS equipment, using as far as is possible, as basic documents for preparation of the draft International standard, any relevant published document from e.g. INMARSAT, COSPAS-SARSAT European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) etc."
